Rough-in Installation
Control valve assembly, piping
and fittings
Reference as required:

1)
Determine wall thickness
Determine type of wall and wall
thickness where valve will be
mounted as follows.
Fiberglass or acrylic walls:
Thickness =
1/2" (13 mm)
Dry wall, plaster, other type:
Thickness = more than
Skip ahead to step 3.

Attach valve mounting plate
Seat plate against valve assembly.

Remove protective shield
Remove shield snap fitted over
the end of valve spindle as shown
in figure 2 below.

Install control valve
Install through cutout hole in wall
as specified in figure 2 below and

Re-attach protective shield
(optional, reference figure 2 to
determine usage) Attach plastic
protective shield by snap fitting

over end of valve spindle.

Adjust valve packing nut
■ Turn hot & cold supplies on.
Valve will not operate unless
both hot and cold water supply
pressures are turned on.
■ Place handle over end of control
spindle stem.

Flush system and check
for leaks
■ Turn valve to the warm position
and run for a few minutes.
■ If system is dirty, remove valve
spindle in center of valve to
