5. Inlet Vent Guard
Using the inlet vent guard (F) will increase the
performance and extend the life of the tool.
a. To attach the guard, snap the guard into the
tool's foot.
b. To remove the guard, insert a flat screwdriver
(not included) into the notch at the top of the
guard, and pry it away from the tool.
Clean the Inlet Vent Guard
To clean the guard, tap it against a hard surface, or
blow it clean with compressed air.
WARNING
• Always wear goggles when using compressed air to clean power tools.
• To reduce the risk of injury, wear safety goggles or glasses with side shields.
• To reduce the risk of injury, always remove the battery pack before any adjusting or
accessory changing.
6. Installing/Removing Accessories
WARNING
• Only use accessories with a Maximum Safe
Operating Speed rated at least equal to the
maximum speed marked on the tool.
• Only use accessories specifically recommended
for this tool. Only use accessories with the size
marked on the tool.
To Install Accessory
a. Remove the battery pack.
b. Loosen the collet/nut (A) and insert the
accessory point into the collet/nut.
c. Depress the spindle-lock button (C) and tighten
the collet/nut securely by turning it clockwise with the wrench.
NOTICE: Use one wrench (not supplied) to hold the spindle and the other one (G) to tighten
the collet/nut securely.
NOTICE: To ensure proper gripping of the bit of the accessory and minimize the run-out, the
shank of the bit must be insert at least 5/8 in. into the collet. And the grinding surface is ap-
proximately 1/8 in. to 3/8 in. away from the face of the collet/nut.
To Remove Accessory
a. Remove the battery pack.
b. Depress the spindle lock button (A) and loosen the collet/nut by turning it counterclockwise
with the included wrench.
c. Remove the accessory.
WARNING
• When changing the bit, always allow the bit to cool first or wear gloves. The bit and the
output shaft may be hot.
