TYPE OF INSTALLATION

A. RIM DEVICE ON SINGLE DOOR
For installation on a door with a standard 2-3/4" backset,
install the strike without the strike shim. If this is a replacement
installation on a door with a backset greater than 2-3/4", the
1/8" thick shim can be used to position the strike correctly.

DRILL HOLES
A.
Determine if outside trim is being used.
B.
If outside trim is being used mark and drill holes on outside door face
according to trim template rst and install trim, then mark and drill holes
for exit device according to enclosed exit device template 999-00427
and install.
C
. If no outside trim is being used mark and drill holes according to
enclosed exit device template 999-00427 and install.
D.
Mark the holes for the strike screws, but do not drill the holes until strike
position is veri ed in Step 5.

INSTALL CYLINDER
See installation instructions of these outside trims.)
A.
Insert the cylinder into the cylinder collar and nger
pull, then into the hole in the door.
B.
Keep the tailpiece horizontal.
C.
Insert the two S8 machine screws through the
mounting plate to secure the cylinder.
D.
Depending on door material, install either two S9
sheet metal screws or S10 machine screws to further
secure the mounting plate.
E.
Make sure the nger pull is straight and install the S7
self-drilling screw.

INSTALL BODY
A.
Remove the head cover from the device
body and end cover from the mounting
bracket by removing the S11/S12 screws
that hold them on.
B.
Align tailpiece receiver of exit device and
trim/cylinder tailpiece so that it slides onto
trim/cylinder tailpiece. Also, align screw holes
on exit device head with mounting holes on
the door.
C.
Depending on door material, install either
four S1 sheet metal screws or S2 machine
screws to secure the head chassis, and two
more screws for the end cover mounting
plate.

B. RIM x RIM x MULLION ON PAIR OF DOORS
If KRM Mullion is being used,install KRM mullion rst, then
outside trim adjusting backset according to KRM Mullion
backset drawing and then install exit device.
