3.4 - Procedure for the removal of the internal BM memory
The internal memory can be removed and can be programmed using the Nice
O-Box or MOU programming units (see respective instruction manuals). To
remove the memory from its seat, proceed as shown in fig. 4.

PROGRAMMING
The MOMB can be programmed in two ways:
EASY: easy programming; basic functions.
PROFESSIONAL: professional programming: more specific functions. In
this mode the use of 1 or 2 cards defined as "MASTER" is necessary (see
paragraph 4.3), for all programming operations.
The programming mode can only be selected when the internal memory is still
empty. The selected method can only be modified by deleting the entire mem-
ory (see chapter 6.2).
4.1 - Using MOMB
The use of MOMB is based on the recognition of the unmistakable code
belonging to every card. When a card is placed near to MOMB, it sends its
identification code. If this code is memorised, MOMB sends the envisioned
command to the control unit. If the card is not valid, MOMB emits an acoustic
signal (beep) as an "error" warning.
On the basis of how it is memorised, the card can be used to activate just one
command ("STATIC 1" or "STATIC 2") or both commands ("DYNAMIC").
Choose from the following programming modes:
• STATIC 1 = the card activates command n° 1.
To activate the command the card must be placed near to the reader; this will
activate command n° 1;
• STATIC 2 = the card activates command n° 2.
To activate the command the card must be placed near to the reader; this will
activate command n° 2;
• DYNAMIC = the card can activate command n° 1 sand command n° 2.
Using this mode the user decides which command to activate, following one
of the procedures given below:
– To activate command n° 1
a) place the card near to the reader; this will emit an acoustic sound;
b) hold the card still; command 1 will be activated after 1 second.
– To activate command n° 2
a) place the card near to the reader; this will emit an acoustic sound;
b) move the card away immediately and place it near to the reader again with-
in 2 seconds to activate command 2.
These three modes can co-exist between programmed cards. In fact, it is pos-
sible to program cards that only activate command n° 1, others that activate
command n° 2 and cards that activate both commands. The following para-
graphs explain how to create and program the cards.
4.2 - Programming procedure in EASY mode
In EASY mode, every card can be programmed to activate command 1 with
"STATIC 1" mode (command n° 1 only) or with "STATIC 2" mode (command n° 2
only) or with "DYNAMIC" mode (command n° 1 and n° 2).Programming takes
place using the "P" key (fig. 4) positioned inside the MOMB. The programming
mode is assigned on the basis of how many times the new card is passed in
front of MOMB (see procedure). Recommendation – At the end of program-
ming, check the correct functioning of MOMB; see chapter 5 - Inspection.
Procedure
Important – When programming has ended it cannot be repeated. Only the
self-insertion procedure can be used to program other cards; see chapter 5.1.
01. Press the "P" key (fig. 4), the reader will emit acoustic sounds with regular
frequency. Memorise the first card within 30 seconds;
02. Choose one of the following modes:
• STATIC 1: pass the new card in front of the reader once
• STATIC 2: pass the new card in front of the reader twice
• DYNAMIC: pass the new card in front of the reader three times
Recommendation: after the first card, within 10 seconds, others can be pro-
grammed one at a time, repeating point 02 with the desired mode. The proce-
dure ends 10 seconds from the reading of the last card.
In the EASY mode it is also possible to perform:
– Self-insertion of new cards (see chapter 6.1)
– Delete the data in the BM memory (see chapter 6.2)
– Change the type of command associated to command n° 1 and n° 2 (see
chapter 6.3).
