7 Commissioning

7.1

Assembly of the additional handle

For safety reasons, always use the
additional handle supplied.
Open the clamping ring by turning the additional
handle (3) counter-clockwise. Push the additional
handle onto the collar of the machine. Insert the
depth stop (1) . Securely tighten the additional
handle at the angle required for the application.

8 Use

Charge the battery pack before use.
NiCd battery pack: The battery pack reaches its
full capacity only after being charged and
discharged 5 times (charge cycles). The
maximum number of charge cycles can only
reached if an exhaustive discharge of the battery
pack is avoided. If performance diminishes,
recharge the battery pack.
The ideal storage temperature is between 10°C
and 40°C.
Li-ion battery packs Li-Power 28 (25.2 V)
have a capacity and signal display (11) :
- Press button (12) and the charge level is
displayed by the LEDs.
- If one LED is flashing, the battery pack is almost
flat and must be recharged.
- If all LEDs are lit, the battery pack is too warm.
Allow the battery pack to cool. The ASS 15 Plus
charger cools down quickly.
8.1
Removing/inserting battery pack
Removal
Press both battery pack release buttons (13) and
take out battery pack (14) .
Inserting:
Insert battery pack (14) until it engages.
8.2

Depth Stop Setting

Loosen the additional handle (3) . Set depth stop
(1) to the desired drilling depth and retighten
additional handle.
8.3
Setting the direction of rotation, engag-
ing the transporting safety device
(switch-on lock)
Do not activate rotation selector switch
(9) unless the motor has completely
stopped!
Actuate the rotational direction switch (direction
of rotation setting, transporting safety device).
See page 3 (please unfold).
R = Clockwise setting
L = Counter-clockwise setting
0 = Middle position: transportation safety
device (Switch-on lock) set
8.4

Switching On and Off

To start the machine, press the trigger switch (10).
The speed can be changed using the trigger
switch.
8.5

Operating mode selection

Drilling
Hammer drilling
Chiselling
In chiselling mode the chisel is locked so that it
cannot turn. To position the chisel for a particular
application, set the switch button (4) between
position
and position
When a chisel is fitted, only operate the
machine in the chiselling operating mode.
Avoid levering with the machine when a
chisel is fitted.
8.6

Tool change with SDS chuck

Before fitting, clean tool shank
and apply special grease
(accessories order no. 6.31800)!
Use only SDS-plus tools.
Inserting the tool:
Turn the tool while inserting until it locks into
place. The tool is automatically locked.
