NEN-EN-IEC 60335-1:2010 CLAUSE 27.1
Device for earthing. The aforementioned clause is applicable unless:
•
The water is insulated from live parts by double insulation, and the inlet and outlet pipes of class I
appliances either
•
contain a metal sieve reliably connected to the earthing terminal; or
•
are of metal and permanently and reliably connected to the earthing terminal. The other accessible metal
parts of the appliance in contact with the water shall also be permanently and reliably connected to the
earthing terminal.

27.4 If the base of the earth connection is part of an aluminium or aluminium-alloy frame or enclosure, precautions
must be taken to prevent the risk of corrosion due to contact between copper and aluminium or its alloys.
SAFETY
Attention! Take care that the lamp is always completely below the water level. If the lamp dries
out it will overheat and stop working.
If maintenance or repair work is to be carried out, the appliance must be switched off using the stipulated
method (NEN-EN-IEC 60335-2-109:2010 clause 22.102), and you must always wear safety goggles (drawing
1, item A) and latex gloves (drawing 1, item B). It is also recommended that you carefully read through the
safety regulations. This UV-C appliance is also suitable for saltwater applications. The appliance must always
be rinsed with clean water, however, after being removed from saltwater or chlorinated water.

This appliance contains a UV-C lamp.
•
Never switch the UV-C lamp on if it is not inside a UV-C shielding enclosure that is part of the appliance
to be assembled, especially if there is a chance of contact with the eyes and/or skin.
•
Use of the appliance in a manner other than that for which it is intended or damage to the UV-C
shielding enclosure may cause the release of hazardous UV-C radiation. Even small doses of UV-C
radiation can cause damage to the eyes and/or skin.
•
Damaged appliances may not be put into operation.
•
Always read the maintenance instructions before opening the appliance.
•
The appliance's power supply must be fitted with a 30mA earth leakage current circuit-breaker.
•
Always de-energize the appliance before carrying out any maintenance or repair work on it.
•
Never do work on the appliance while standing in a puddle of water or with wet hands.
•
This appliance is not intended for household use or installation by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience and know-how.
Keep children away from this appliance and from the cable. The Immersion UV-C may not be
put into operation until it has been built into an appliance/machine to a maximum depth of 9
metres or has been assembled with other appliances/machines to form an appliance/machine
that meets the harmonized European standards applicable to the assembled appliance/
machine, and in particular the standards defined in NEN-EN-IEC 60335-2-109:2010, EN-EN-IEC
60335-2-109:2010/A1:2018 and NEN-EN-IEC 0335-2-109:2010/A2:2018.
