I. Warning:
This equipment should be installed by a qualified individual.
This equipment should be used by only one person at a time, supervised by a qualified individual and with appropriate landing
mats.
Using this equipment for purposes other than those originally intended is not allowed.
These beam wideners are suitable for fitting to GYMNOVA beam bodies only.
II. Recommendations:
As shown in French Standard NF S52-400 the following is recommended:
- keep these instructions for subsequent reference (inspection, maintenance, etc.).
- periodically carry out predictive maintenance.
- depending on how much it is used, have the equipment serviced yearly or every few years.
III. Set-up:
1 - Place the widener on the beam body, leaving the straps (1) and (2) free to drop down either side of the beam body (Fig. 2).
2 - Open the plain end strap (1), thread the end through the rectangular buckle on strap (2) (see Fig. 3).
3 - Tighten the widener by pulling on the end of the plain strap (1) and secure it on the self-gripping strip.
IV. Usage
(warranty validity)
- It is imperative that this equipment be used fitted directly and fully (in overall contact) on a beam body.
- Under no circumstances must this equipment be used without all the fixings provided for this purpose
- This equipment is for training only: for safety's sake, the beam fitted with one or more wideners should not be used under
any circumstances as a competition apparatus.
V. Maintenance:
1 - Cleaning the apparatus regularly will make it easier to spot any problems (distortion, breakage or corrosion).
2 - Before use, fully check wearing parts and safety features each time for proper condition and operation: straps (1) and (2)
(self-gripping strips, metal buckle, cuts in straps).
3 - Important:
- If a problem is found or suspected, do not use the equipment until it has been checked by a technician.
- Any damaged or distorted component should be replaced as soon as possible.
4 -When replacing straps (1) and/or (2), always check they are assembled the right way round: the self-gripping strips on the
straps should be facing outwards (as shown in Fig. 2) in order not to damage the beam body.
VI. Storage:
Always store the equipment away from humidity and heat.
