Connect filter system, see fold-out page III, Fig. [5].
1. Screw hose (H) onto sensor (F).
2. Screw pressure hose (E) of filter system onto adapter (I)
[Duo] or directly onto cold water connection [Mono].
3. Install the GROHE Red boiling water system as per the
technical product information enclosed with the product.
Do not connect the voltage supply to the GROHE Red
boiling water storage heater yet.
Open cold water supply and check connections for
watertightness.
Flush filter system, see fold-out page III, Fig. [6].
1. Place collecting vessel under filter to collect water flowing
out of hose (J).
2. Press flush valve (B2) on filter head (B) and flush filter
system.
3. Continue flushing until water emerging from hose (J) is clear
and free of bubbles [min. 2 litres].
4. Fill the GROHE Red boiling water storage heater as per the
technical product information enclosed with the product.
5. Connect the voltage supply to the GROHE Red boiling water
storage heater.
6. Open the GROHE Red boiling water fitting and flush with
one storage heater fill (4 or 8 litres depending on the size).
Setting the litre specification
The bypass setting (C) set in the filter head (B) must be
transferred to the display unit (G), see fold-out page II, Fig. [4].
The value for the litre specification must be set as follows
depending on the water hardness as per table column B on
fold-out page IV:

See technical product information enclosed with the filter
cartridge for information on replacing the filter.
The filter system is equipped with the 600 litre filter cartridge
(Prod. No.: 40 404) at the factory. The following filter sizes are
also available. 3,000 litre filter cartridge (Prod. No.: 40 412)
or 1,500 litre filter cartridge (Prod. No.: 40 430).
Note: The various filter cartridges can be ordered at
www.grohe.com.
Resetting the filter capacity
After a new filter cartridge is inserted, the filter capacity must
be reset as follows:

(negative litre specification, e.g. -1 or
remaining capacity e.g. 150 flashing)
Press RESET button for 3 seconds
(rESEt appears)
The data for time and litre capacity is
reset
Note: The litre specification programmed for the filter cartridge
is retained.
Battery (K), see fold-out page III, Fig. [7] and [8].
The battery must be replaced 7 years after commissioning the
fitting, at the latest.

1. Loosen screw (L) and remove cover (M), see Fig. [7].
2. Remove battery (K) and replace, see Fig. [8]. Important:
Note correct polarity.
Note: No settings saved by the user will be lost when
changing the batteries or if the battery discharges.
Assemble in reverse order.

Disposal note

Dispose of batteries in accordance with national
regulations.
