The 5, 8 and 12 programs are studied for optimum efficiency
of the water softeners. However, sometimes it may be neces-
sary to prolong or shorten the duration of the regeneration
steps, for example prolonging the rinsing if hydric pressure
is insufficient, or to reduce the amount of water in the brine
tank. In this cases, the ALIA valve allows for a modification of
the duration of the regeneration.
ATTENTION: to change the duration (B3, B5, B7), you must
not select the model, otherwise you will exclude the possibility
of changing the duration.
5.5 PERSONALIZING THE DURATION OF THE
REGENERATION
The regeneration steps are:
- Service mode
B3 - Backwash
B5 - Brine sucking and slow resin rinse
B7 - Refill and quick wash
If no model is selected, the writing "POS. B3 minutes: se-
conds" will appear on the display.

The writing "POS. B5 minutes: seconds" will appear on the
display.
- Repeat the procedure to set the duration for step B5 and
then step B7.
- Afterwards, you will pass to the salt alarm settings (para-
graph 5.6).

If you increase or decrease the duration, the amount of water
discharged will vary proportionally. The duration of step B7
(refill), in particular, determines the water level in the salt
container and, consequently, how much salt is used during
each regeneration
5.6 RESIN DISINFECTION AND SALT ALARM
(MONITORING SALT PRESENCE)
The water softener is provided with a system that disinfects
the resins during regeneration.

electrodes which, when coming in contact with salt water,
to
generate a hypochlorite through electrolysis. The hypochlorite
will come in contact with the resins and disinfect them.
If the electrodes do not find salt water, the electrolysis process
will not take place and the equipment will warn the user throu-
gh a visual and acoustic signal that it is necessary to refill the
salt container.
The salt monitoring is performed during step B5 of the rege-
neration.
To activate the monitoring, when the writing "SALT CHECK"
appears on the display during programming, press

If you select "NO", salt check will not be performed and no
alarm will be activated (the disinfection process will be per-
formed anyway).
You are now finished with setting and the display will show the
Service mode screen (chapter 5.7).
If you select "YES", the writing "CHIME" will appear on the di-

When the alarm is active, the lack of salt will be signaled in
three ways:
- with a red flashing led above the display (fig. 9, C)
- with the writing "ADD SALT TO BRINE TANK"
- with an intermittent chime
Please note: the chime, when active, will function from 8 am
to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
To turn off the salt alarm:
1. Refill the brine tank with salt and wait for at least two hours
for it to melt.
2. Perform a manual regeneration (paragraph 7.1)
5.7 READING THE SETTINGS ON THE DISPLAY
