INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
SIMPLIFIED INSTALLATION: For detailed instructions proceed
to page 2.
FRAMING/YOKE: Determine location of support framing for
yoke, spout, and showerhead (refer to Detailed Instructions,
page 2, for dimensional information).
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Remove the
aspirator(1), plaster guards(2), and valve units(3) before
you apply heat to yoke.
To prevent damage to the yoke components due to heat while
soldering, remove the valve units, plaster guards, and the
aspirator.
Yoke has two-sided pipe adapters(4) that can be reversed for
use with either 1/2" N.P.T. pipe or copper tubing. Connect hot and
cold supplies to yoke, so they are between 2" (5cm) Minimum
and 3-1/2" (8.9cm) Maximum from the finished wall.
For ceiling supplies only: Remove the aspirator, plaster guards,
and valve units from the yoke. Turn the yoke upside down. Install
the aspirator into the bath outlet of the yoke. Reinstall the valve
units, being sure to install the colored dot valve on the right side.
Reinstall the plaster guards.
Install 1/2" N.P.T. piping or copper tubing and adapters for bath
and shower outlets. For bath-only or shower-only installations,
seal the unused outlet with plug(5) provided. IMPORTANT!
Secure the bath and shower piping to support framing.
Install temporary nipples in the bath and shower elbows. Be sure
the temporary nipple used for slip-fit spout installations will
extend at least 6" (15.2cm) beyond the finished wall.
If the aspirator, plaster guards and valve units were removed for
soldering, reinstall.
SPOUTS: For slip-fit spouts, cut 1/2" copper tube to extend
between 1-1/2" (3.8cm) and 2-7/8" (7.3cm) beyond finished wall.
Loosen spout setscrew with 5/32" hex wrench to avoid damage
to internal seal. Place a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant
around inlet end of spout according to the manufacturer's
instructions. Install the spout and carefully retighten setscrew.
For threaded spouts, remove temporary nipple. Install 1/2"
nipple for standard N.P.T. spout to extend 3-7/8" (9.8cm) , and
large N.P.T. spout 7" (17.8cm) beyond finished wall. Apply
thread sealant to the nipple threads. Place a bead of plumbers
putty or other sealant around inlet end of spout according to the
putty manufacturer's instructions and carefully tighten with a
strap wrench.
SHOWERHEAD: Slip(6) wall flange over shower arm(7). Using
thread sealant tape, thread shower arm into elbow. Tighten with
a clean strap wrench. Flush out system with showerhead
removed. Using thread sealant tape, thread showerhead(8) to
shower arm.
ESCUTCHEON/HANDLE: Complete the finished wall and
discard the plaster guards(2).
Apply a bead of plumbers putty or other sealant around the edge
of the escutcheons(9) according to the putty manufacturer's
instructions. Install the escutcheons over the threaded
sleeves(10) and align on the wall.
Identify your handle. Assemble, align, and secure to valve stem.
