Prism III Setup and Installation Guide
Before you begin:
This document describes how to set up your Rimage Prism III printer.
The instructions in this document are intended for people who are familiar
with hardware setup, software installation, and Windows operating systems.
If you do not understand the procedures in this document, ask your computer
technician for help.
Documents referenced in this procedure are found on the Rimage Prism III
User Guide disc included with your system and are also available online at
www.rimage.com/support. From the Support menu select: Printer Series >
Prism III > User Manuals tab.
Important!
• This guide provides the information needed to set up a standalone Prism
III printer. If your Prism III printer is part of an autoloader system, refer
to your autoloader's setup and installation guide for instructions. If
your Prism III printer is part of an AutoPrism III AutoPrinter, refer to the
AutoPrinter's setup and installation guide for instructions.
• Read all setup instructions thoroughly before you begin.
• Save all packing boxes and packing materials.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Windows navigation statements are

Set up your Printer
a. Unpack the Prism III printer. Refer to the label on the Prism printer
box.
Note: The Prism print ribbon is already installed in the printer.
Important! If you are installing the Prism printer on an autoloader
or AutoPrinter, refer to your product's setup and installation guide
for cabling instructions.
b. Connect the cables.
Important! Make sure the power switch is in the Off position. Do
not power on the printer until prompted to do so during the CD
Designer Software Suite installation.
i. Connect the USB cable from the printer to the external control
center (PC).
ii. Connect the power cord from the Prism printer to an electrical
outlet.

Install the Rimage Software
and Prism III Printer Driver (PC Only)
Before you can operate a standalone Prism printer, you must install the
Rimage software (CD Designer Software Suite) and Prism printer driver.
Important! Rimage CD Designer software is not Macintosh
compatible.
Note: Unless otherwise indicated, all Windows navigation statements
are Microsoft Windows 7 paths. Other operating systems' navigation
paths may differ slightly.
a. Insert the Rimage CD Designer Software Suite disc that shipped
with the printer into your computer's disc drive.
b. If the installation does not start automatically, browse to the disc
drive on your computer and open the file named setup.exe.
c. Follow the prompts to install the CD Designer software and
PrismIII printer driver.
