• Only use an extension cord of
type H05RN-F which is intended
for outdoor use and equipped
with a watertight plug and
coupling-socket
• Only use extension cords with
a maximum length of 40 metres
(1,0 mm²), 60 metres (1,5 mm²)
or 100 metres (2,5 mm²)
• Use completely unrolled and
safe extension cords with a
capacity of 16 Amps (U.K. 13
Amps)
• Inspect the extension cord
periodically and replace it,
if damaged (inadequate
extension cords can be
dangerous)
• Protect the (extension) cord from
heat, oil and sharp edges
• If the power cable is damaged,
send the pump to a SKIL
service station (addresses are
listed on www.skil.com)
• Immediately disconnect the
plug if the (extension) cord is
damaged

USE
Assembly 5
•
- screw connection elbow A/hose connector B into
pump outlet
- connect a 25 mm (1") hose to hose connector B
- to allow other hose diameters, cut off the nipples of the
universal hose connector as illustrated
- for optimal results use a hose with a diameter of 32
mm (1 1/4") and with a length as short as possible (be
aware that after switching off remaining water in the
hose will increase the residual water depth)
- when using a 32 mm (1 1/4") or a 25 mm (1") hose, we
recommend to fasten it with an additional hose clamp
•
Operating the appliance 6
- place the pump on a firm surface in the water to be
transferred (or use a rope attached to carrying handle
C to immerse the pump in a well or shaft)
! ensure that float switch D can move freely
- air may escape through air bleed valve E and air
bubbles may appear underwater
- it may take several seconds for the air to escape when
the pump is immersed for the first time
- wait until the air bubbles have disappeared
- plug power cable F into a mains socket
! connect this earthed appliance only to a properly
earthed power supply system; ensure that socket
and extension cable have a functional protective
conductor
•
Automatic mode 6
- float switch D automatically turns on the pump when
the water level exceeds the switch-on height
- float switch D turns off the pump again when the water
level drops below the switch-off height
•
Adjusting switch-ON and switch-OFF height 6
- push float switch cable G into cable holder H
- the shorter the length of the cable between float switch
D and cable holder H, the lower the switch-ON height
and the higher the switch-OFF height
! ensure that the cable length between float switch
D and cable holder H is at least 10 cm
•
Manual mode 7
- switch on the pump manually by raising float switch D
- be aware that water level must be above 30-40 mm
(0805) / 70-80 mm (0810) to ensure that the pump
can draw in water
- fix/hold float switch D vertically above the pump
! as long as the float switch is positioned vertically
above the pump, the pump will continue to
operate regardless of the water level
- the minimal residual water depth (approx. 5 mm 0805
/ 35 mm 0810) can only be achieved in manual mode,
because the float switch already switches off the pump
in an earlier stage when in automatic mode
- observe the pump at all times during manual mode
! immediately unplug the pump when it stops
drawing in water (avoid dry-running operation)
•
Thermal protection
- the built-in thermal protection switches off the motor in
the event of overheating
- after a cooling-down phase of approximately 15-30
minutes, the pump switches on automatically
MAINTENANCE / SERVICE
