Ambu® PEEP 10 valve and
Ambu® PEEP 20 valve
1. Warnings/Precautions
WARNING
• The PEEP valve should only be used by trained persons who are aware that PEEP
may have an adverse effect on the patient's circulation.
• The PEEP 20 valve should only be used in situations where the patient's condition
can be checked carefully by means of bloodgas and haemodynamic tests.
• Do not use the PEEP valve on ventilators or breathing systems if the attachment of
such valves is not specified by the manufacturer.
CAUTION
• U.S. federal law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician
(USA and Canada only).
• Following disassembly and cleaning of the PEEP valve it is important to check
that the parts are in perfect condition, e.g. that there are no cracks, and that the
internal valve assembly does not leak silicone oil, and to assemble them correctly.
• For the adjustment of the PEEP 20 valve, a manometer should be connected to
the patient breathing for monitoring of the adjustment. For the PEEP 10 valve, the
same applies when using the PEEP 10 valve on infants (below 10 kg body weight).
