PROPER USE & CARE

Use and stow the scale at room temperature.

Do not submit the scale to shaking, excessive vibration, or other rough treatment;
use on a flat and stable surface.

The display may be affected by electromagnetic disturbances such as radios, micro-
waves, or cell phones. If such disturbances occur, remove the source of the distur-
bance, and restart the scale.

Disassembling, or tampering with the scale voids the warranty.

Clean the scale with a damp cloth; do not submerge in liquid; scale is not water-
proof.

Failure to insert batteries in the correct polarity, as indicated in the battery compart-
ment, may shorten the life of the batteries or cause batteries to leak.

Do not mix Alkaline, Standard (Carbon-Zinc) or Rechargeable (Nickel Cadmium) or
(Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.

Batteries should be recycled or disposed of as per state and local guidelines. Do not
dispose of batteries in fire.
TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING MESSAGES
"Err2" — BIA analysis failure / Sensor defect
Solution: Let the scale turn off. Step back on the center of the platform with clean and dry
bare feet with both feet on the metal foot placers.
"8888" — Startup cycle stuck
Solution: Let the scale turn off and try measuring again. If the message is persistent and
prevents measurements, contact Escali for further instructions.
"- - - -" — Unstable surface
Solution: Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat, level and smooth surface that is free of any
vibrations.
