3 Applications and Accessories

Together with the transmitters PT-850B/ 1 or
MH-850/ 1, the UHF PLL receivers US-8001D/ 1
(1  receiving unit) and US-8002D/ 1 (2 receiving
units) make up a wireless audio transmission sys-
tem For transmission, 16 channels are available
in the UHF frequency range of 863 to 865 MHz
The receivers operate with "diversity" tech-
nology: The transmission signal is received by two
antennas placed at a distance from each other
An electronic system will select the signal of the
higher quality and pass it on to the input of the
receiving unit(s)
The following transmitters from the product range
of JTS can be used together with the receivers
US-8001D/ 1 and US-8002D/ 1:
MH-850 / 1 order No 25 4460
Dynamic hand-held microphone with integrated
transmitter
PT-850B / 1 order No 25 4470
Pocket transmitter with Lavalier microphone
For installing the receiver into a rack (482 mm /19"),
the bracket DR-900SET (order No 24 4770) which
is able to accept two receivers is available from JTS
The bracket requires a height of 1 RS (1 rack space
= 44 5 mm) in the rack
4 Connection
1) For connection to the subsequent unit (e g
mixer, amplifier), the following audio outputs
may be used:
– XLR jack (8) for connection to a microphone
input
In order to be able to feed the two audio
signals transmitted to two separate inputs,
model US-8002D/ 1 is provided with two jacks
for the receiving units CH 1 and CH 2
– unbalanced 6 3 mm jack (9) for connection
to a highly sensitive line input (a matching
connection cable is supplied)
With model US-8002D/ 1, the mixed signal
from the receiving units CH 1 and CH 2 is
available here
2) For power supply, connect the power supply
unit provided to the jack (11), then connect
it to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) To prevent
accidental disconnection of the plug of the
power supply unit from the jack (11), lead the
cable around the hook (10) for strain relief

5 Operation
1) Switch on the receiver with the POWER
switch (2) The power LED (3) lights up The
outputs (8, 9) will be muted until a radio signal
of sufficient power is received
2) Put the antennas (1) in a vertical position
For model US-8002D/ 1, make the following adjust-
ments separately for each receiving unit
3) Before switching on the transmitter, set the
receiver to a transmission channel which is
available and free from interference: For this
purpose, turn the rotary switch CH (4) corre-
spondingly by means of the small adjusting
key supplied Via the audio unit connected to
the output, no interference or signals of other
transmissions must be audible and the reception
LED RF (5) must not light up

Example
Channel 12 is adjusted
The 16 transmission channels are assigned to
the following transmission frequencies:
Channel
Frequency
1
863 125 MHz
2
863 250 MHz
3
863 375 MHz
4
863 500 MHz
5
863 625 MHz
6
863 750 MHz
7
863 875 MHz
8
864 000 MHz
Note: If other wireless transmission systems are
operated with this wireless system at the same
time, the radio frequencies of the individual sys-
tems should be carefully matched to each other to
prevent interference
4) Set the transmitter or the wireless microphone
to the same channel adjusted on the receiver
and switch it on (see instruction manual of the
transmitter) On the receiver, the reception LED
RF (5) must light up: red or green, depending
on the antenna receiving the more powerful
signal If the LED RF does not light up, check
a if the batteries of the transmitter are dis-
charged
b if the transmitter and the receiver have been
adjusted to the same channel
