• If swallowed: rinse mouth. Do not induce
vomiting.
• After contact with the skin (or hair): remove/take
off all contaminated clothing immediately. Rinse
skin with water/take a shower.
• Upon contact with eyes: rinse cautiously with
water for several minutes. Remove contact
lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue
rinsing.
• Always consult a doctor.
IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the battery can lead to
damage to the battery.
• Do not open the battery, do not drill into it, and do
not exert force on it.
• Protect the battery from violent mechanical
impacts.
• Follow the safety instructions in the instructions
for use for your motorcycle.
• Deep discharge of the battery leads to loss of
capacity and can cause the battery to freeze at
corresponding temperatures.
4 | Initial start-up
Check the battery and the scope of delivery.
1. Remove the battery and accessories from the packaging.
26
2. Check whether the delivery is complete (see Section 1).
3. Check whether the battery or the individual parts are damaged.
Contact the manufacturer via the specified service address if
they are.
5 | Use
5.1 | Correct battery type
Always ensure that the battery you are installing is the correct type
for your vehicle, and is recommended for your model by the vehicle
manufacturer. You can generally do this by looking in your vehicle
handbook or by checking the designation on your old battery (e.g.
YB12A-B).
Prior to commissioning and filling the battery, always check the
following:
1. Does the battery fit your vehicle? Are the dimensions correct
(height x width x depth)?
2. Are the positive and negative terminals in the right position?
3. Is the vent hole in the right position?
4. Does the battery have the correct voltage (V = volt)?
5. Does the battery have the correct capacity (Ah = ampere-hours)?
5.2 | Filling the battery with acid
Place the battery on an even surface and make sure you remove
the red vent plug on the side. This frees up the vent hole. Then
remove the yellow sticker from the battery terminal.
CAUTION!
Risk of chemical burns!
Remove the caps of the individual cells (3 caps
for 6 V, and 6 caps for 12 V batteries) and fill the
battery with suitable battery acid (optional) up to
the "Maximum" mark.
