5. STOPPING THE PUMP
Speed control lever
• Place the speed control lever on minimum and
allow the engine to run at low speed for 2 or 3
minutes before turning it off.
• Take the speed lever to the stop position.
• Shut the fuel cock.
Once the engine stops:
• Slowly pull the start knob and, once you do not
feel resistance, return it to its original position.
This operation is necessary to prevent air from
entering the combustion chamber and hence
the formation of oxide.
[ATTENTION]
If the engine continues to run after placing the lever in the "STOP" position shut
the fuel cock or loosen the nut on the fuel pipe towards the pump to stop the
engine.
When the engine stops, reduce the load slowly. Do not stop the engine suddenly
because this could provoke an excessive increase in temperature. Never stop the
engine with the decompression lever.
