SERVICE KIT INSTRUCTIONS
Remove the Old Flush Valve
Shut off the water supply.
Remove the cover from the tank and place in a safe location.
Flush the toilet.
Repeat until the tank is empty. Sponge out any remaining water from the tank.
Remove the washers and nuts from the tank bolts.
Remove the tank.
Turn the flush valve nut counterclockwise to remove.
Discard the old flush valve nut, tank gasket, washer, flush valve and gasket.
Install the New Flush Valve
CAUTION: Risk of product damage. Overtightening may cause breakage or chipping of
the vitreous china.
Install the new tank gasket to the tank.
Install the gasket to the new flush valve.
From inside the tank, insert the flush valve through the tank hole and tank gasket.
From underneath the tank, slide the washer onto the bottom of the flush valve.
Secure the flush valve to the tank with the flush valve nut. Hand tighten the nut, then
tighten an additional one-quarter turn.
Position the tank onto the bowl by centering the gasket over the bowl inlet.
Assemble a washer and nut to each tank bolt.
Loosely tighten the nuts to the bowl.
Tighten each nut one-quarter turn until the gasket is compressed and a watertight seal is
achieved. Do not overtighten.
Attach the chain to the float valve.
Turn on the water supply. Then flush the toilet checking all connections for leaks.
Continue to check for leaks over the next couple days.
