Feature description
The Dräger X-act 5000 Basic is an automatic pump that is used
together with tubes or sampling tubes and systems. The pump control
provides the required flow characteristics of the tubes. tubes are used
to determine gases, vapors, and aerosols in air or technical gases.
Sampling tubes and systems are used for the active sampling of
volatile organic substances in the air at workplaces, indoor air, and
environmental areas.
The Dräger X-act 5000 Basic is protected against the effects of
common workplace solvents.
The instrument is equipped with an SO
exhaust gas, which can occur with some tubes during the
measurement.
Operation of the Dräger X-act 5000 Basic is menu-driven. The
following operating modes are available:
Measurements using tubes
Air measurement
- "MANUAL OPERATION AIR"
Measurement in technical gases
Sample taking
The user selects the operating mode at the beginning of the
measurement. For the short-term tube mode, tubes or simultaneous
test sets, which can be used to measure five substances
simultaneously, can be used. For the sample taking mode, sampling
tubes and systems will be used.
Measurement in technical gases
If the "MEASUREMENT TECHN. GAS" mode is selected, the user will
be prompted to start the measurement with a special operation
procedure needed for measurements in technical gases. This mode is
used to consider the viscosity of a technical gas, which is different to
the viscosity of ambient air. Following the menu in this mode, the
Dräger X-act 5000 Basic will be automatically adjusted to the flow
parameters required. The measurement result can be read out directly
at the tube. The tubes listed in Chap. 10 can be used for the
measurement.
