Accessory for 3VT circuit-breakers — Motorized operating mechanism
Safety Instructions
Read and understand these instructions before installing,
operating, or maintaining the equipment.
DANGER
!
Hazardous voltage.
Can cause death or serious injury.
Turn off and lock out all power supplying this device
before working on this device.
CAUTION
Reliable functioning of the equipment is only ensured with
certified components.
VT160 to VT630 circuit-breakers can be equipped with motor-
ized operating mechanisms for remote opening and closing dur-
ing operation. These devices can be used to block the operating
mechanism electrically and mechanically. All remote-controlled
operating mechanisms are equipped with a manual operation
option for maintenance purposes.
Installation of motorized operating mechanism for VT160
(1) Step 1: Insert the four screw terminals into the circuit-
breaker and fix them with nuts at the bottom.
(2) Step 2: Screw the positioning sets onto the circuit-breaker.
(3) Step 3: Screw the motorized operating mechanism onto the
positioning sets.
(4) Remove the handle from the circuit-breaker in the manual
position.
(5) Use the handle to switch the motorized operating
mechanism on and off.
Installation of motorized operating mechanism for VT250
(6) Step 1: Insert the four screw terminals into the circuit-
breaker.
(7) Step 2: Fix the screw terminals with the nuts.
(8) Step 3: Mount the motorized operating mechanism on the
top of the circuit-breaker in the direction shown.
(9) Step 4: Screw the motorized operating mechanism onto the
positioning sets.
(10) The motorized operating mechanism is in the automatic
position.
(11) The motorized operating mechanism is in the manual posi-
tion.
(12) In the manual position use the rotary handle to switch the
motorized operating mechanism on and off.
Installation of motorized operating mechanism for VT400
(13) Step 1: Insert the four screw terminals into the circuit-
breaker and fix them with nuts at the bottom.
(14) Step 2: Mount the motorized operating mechanism on the
top of the circuit-breaker in the direction shown.
(15) Step 3: Screw the motorized operating mechanism onto the
positioning sets.
(16) The motorized operating mechanism is in the manual posi-
tion. Switch to the manual position.
(17) Remove the crank handle.
(18) Use the crank handle to switch the motorized operating

NOTICE
1. Operation in manual should be clockwise up to 180 °.
Counter-clockwise operation is not permissible.
2. When testing withstand voltage, 1,500 V AC , 50 Hz should
be withstood between the power supply connecting terminals
P1 and P2 (not including S1, S2 and S4) and the mounting
screws of the motorized operating mechanism.
3.The withstand voltage cannot be tested for the motorized
operating mechanism with a rated voltage of 24 V DC.
4. Inspection
The motorized operating mechanism can operate smoothly and
in balance, without stopping failure, blocked rotor and/or abnor-
mal sound at 85 % to 110 % of the rated operational voltage.
