PACKING YOUR GEAR
• Do not pack gear in the balloon compartment.
• Never pack your beacon in your bag. It should always be carried on your
person.
• Attach an ice axe by laying it flat against the pack with the pick towards
the centre. Place the dongle through the head of the ice axe and along
the side of the shaft. Use the VELCRO
ensuring the dongle is underneath the strap. Secure the base of the ice
axe with the bottom VELCRO
• The lash ladder is designed to allow adjustments to the desired width
and angle for your gear. The end of the webbing can be moved to any
position to create the needed loop size. Use needle nose pliers for
assistance. Make sure the webbing anchor is through a lash to keep the
webbing loop from slipping. Thread the end of the webbing through
the buckle and tighten to secure. Do not use the compression strap for
securing your gear to the pack.
• Always carry avalanche safety tools. This includes a shovel and a probe, in
addition to a beacon.
