Radio controlled clock
4.1
DCF77
This unit receives the time signal transmitted by Physikalisch-Technische
Bundesanstalt (PTB) of Germany, which is regulated by 4 atomic clocks
and in average deviates less than 1 second in 2 million years.
PTB transmits the time signal (DCF77, 77.5kHz) continuously from
Mainflingen, 25 km southeast of Frankfurt (am Main). It is expected that
the signal can cover a distance of 2,000 km from the transmitter.
However, some environmental effects may affect the transmitting
distance.
For more information, visit www.ptb.de.
4.2
Environmental reception effects
Avoid the following situations to maximize the DCF signal reception:
Long transmitting distance
Nearby mountains and valleys
Among tall buildings
Near railway, high voltage cable, etc.
Near freeway, airport, etc.
Near construction site
4.3
Automatic RCC reception
The weather station undergoes RCC reception at 3:00am, 4:00am, 5:00am and 6:00am everyday. However,
this would only take place with the condition that the weather station screen is turned off.
Note: To shut down the screen, press the Screen ON-OFF button
Once a reception is successful, the subsequent reception will be slipped.
4.4
Power down Reception
The weather station will start auto RCC reception under the following conditions:
1.
The main power of the weather station is shut down.
2.
The weather station didn't have successful RCC reception for the last 24 hours
To force the RCC reception, see chapter '5.4.8 - Activate for RCC reception'.
Note: The reception will repeat hourly until a good reception is performed. To shut the main power of the
weatherstation, press the main power switch on the left side panel of the frame unit.
There are 2 levels of RCC strength indicator in the clock display:
- The signal is weak
- The signal is strong
If there is no wave above the reception tower that means the signal is very weak and the weather station cannot be set
by the RCC signal, please try to rotate the weather station to other windows to search for a better RCC reception
