13.3 Operating the hand winch Safety Winch
Flanging the winch on to the tripod
• assemble the tripod as described in the instructions for use
and maintenance
• flange on the hand winch at the pull-out telescopic leg
• check the winch is seated tightly
• swing out crank handle
13.4 Function of the hand winch Safety Winch
Inserting rope
• check reduction and permissible load
• secure rope clamp (figures 1a and b)
• insert rope (figures 2a and b)
• check the rope is positioned correctly (figure 3).
Hoisting
• pull on the loose rope and at the same time turn the crank
at least one full turn (clockwise)
• you can let go of the loose rope when the rope has become
tight in the driving pulleys
• repeat the previous steps after any break in the lifting work.
Abseiling with the hand winch
• take the load off the rope clamp by operating the winch and
open the locking catch
• turn the crank anticlockwise.
Abseiling without the hand winch
• take the load off the rope clamp by operating the winch
and open the locking catch
• take out the rope clamp while slowly turning the crank
anticlockwise
• secure the rope with the rope clamp and thread it
out of the winch
• continue abseiling as described in the instructions for use
for the devices
