To prevent clogging, alternate the
shredding of branches with thin twigs
and wilted garden waste that has been
stored for several days.
Remove soil and stones from roots
before shredding.
Do not shred soft, damp material such
as kitchen waste. Compost it instead.
Pick up a few dry branches at the end
and use them to help clean the device.
Only switch off the device when all
shredded material has passed through
the cutting roll area. Otherwise, the
cutting roll can become blocked when
restarting.

Adjusting the pressure plate

Running-in a new machine can some-
times require the pressure plate to be
adjusted at shorter intervals at the begin-
ning.
You can see the right time to adjust the
pressure plate when the shredded mate-
rial only appears crushed and is still held
together in one piece.
1. Turn the machine on.
2. Slowly turn the adjuster screw
(see
, No. 8) in a clockwise direction
( – ), until grinding noises are audible.
à Small aluminium chips fall from
the ejection chute.
