    The automatic print head adjustment can be fine tuned for best print quality. Semiautomatic head gap adjustment and fixed head gap may also be selected. NOTE: The automatic print head adjustment uses one needle of the print head to sense the gap and will put a very light mark on the first sheet of paper after loading paper.

On dual path printers, the print head automatically backs away from the striker bar any time the printer is turned on and there is no paper under the print head.
