that the groundwater and dirt do not enter the water to be drawn by the pump. The pump should be submerged in the water by fi rst
tying the cord to the holes in the upper part of the pump housing. The cord should be tied so that the pump is always upright and
does not tilt when lowering. This will prevent the tilted pump from blocking the opening. Do not use the power cord to submerge
the pump. The power cord must not be overly tensioned.
It is recommended to mark the length of the cord in some way to make sure that the pump has been lowered to the correct depth
and is not blocked in the well opening.
The pump should be removed from the well during the period when the temperature drops below 0°C. Freezing water increases
its volume; it can lead to damage to the pump and/or the outlet hose.
Starting and stopping the pump
The pump is operated by means of a on/off switch located on the side wall of the cable junction box. Move the on/off switch to the
I position - on. The pump engine starts running and the turbine connected to it starts pumping water. When the pump is started
for the fi rst time, the drawn water must fi rst discharge the air from the outlet hose. This means that it may take some time before
water reaches the hose outlet.
Switch off the pump by moving the on/off switch to the O position - off .
The pump is equipped with a fuse near the on/off switch. If the pump overheats, e.g. due to clogging of the pump inlet or water
fl ow failure, the pump will automatically stop and the fuse button will lift. In this case, switch the pump off immediately, unplug the
power cord, and check it. Pull the pump out of the well and check and try to remove the cause of the fuse tripping, e.g. clogged
inlet openings. Then wait for the pump to cool down completely, place it in the well, connect it to the power supply, press the fuse
button and start the pump with the on/off switch. If the cause of the fuse tripping is not visible and restarting of the pump will cause
retripping of the fuse, hand the pump over to the authorised service centre.
MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
When the pump has fi nished working, disconnect it from the power supply and take it out of the water. Disconnect the hose from
the pump outlet and allow gravity to make the water fl ow out of the pump. During this operation, the pump must be tilted in dif-
ferent directions. After emptying the pump, dry it externally with a soft cloth or leave it to dry. The external parts of the pump may
be cleaned by means of a clean water jet with a pressure of not more than 0.3 MPa. When cleaning the pump, be careful not to
get the plug of the power cord wet.
Transport the pump emptied and dried. Move by grasping the handle on top of the housing or by the housing. Never transport the
pump by pulling or hanging it by the power cord. Transport in packaging which protects the pump from dust and dirt.
Store the pump emptied and dried. The water left in the pump can freeze and cause damage to the pump. Store the pump in
shaded areas which provide good ventilation and are protected against unauthorised use, especially by children.
