(1) All motors are totally enclosed, fan-cooled, run at 1450 r.p.m., have a solid base and a 1.15 service factor.
Indoor fan performances
- For cool only units with 0% outdoor air
and 100% return, dry indoor coil and EU3
standard air filters.
- Attention: Before going to the tables, do
not forget to add to the pressure needed
in the installation the pressure drop due
to the gas or pump unit model, the vertical
impulse and return, and the accessories
included in the unit.
- The motor pulley is factory-adjusted to 4
opening turns. See Pulley adjustment and
belt tensing section.
- Attention: Upon commissioning the unit
and having balanced air distribution in
the conditioned area, the impulse air flow
must be checked.
It is very recommendable to not go over a
depression of -200Pa at indoor fan suction
with clean filters.
Checking impulse air flow
Turn the impulse air fan motor on.
Adjust resistance in the impulse and return
to balance air distribution throughout the
conditioned area. Due to the specifications
of the site, it may be necessary to have this
balancing process carried out by someone
indicated by the installer.
To check impulse air flow after initial
balancing:
1. There are two 9.5 mm. holes for reading
the pressure in front of and behind the
evaporating coil.
They are located on the filter and fan
side access panels, and have a caps.
Fig. 3.
2. Insert at least 200 mm. of pipe (with a
diameter of about 6 mm.) in each hole
to achieve sufficient penetration in the
air flow on both sides of the indoor coil.

Note:
The pipes should be inserted and
kept in perpendicular to the air
flow so that the pressure of the
speed does not affect the static
pressure reading.
3. Using an inclined pressure gauge, deter-
mine the pressure drop in the dry indoor
coil. As humidity may vary considerably
in an indoor coil, any measurement of
a humid coil in site conditions would be
inaccurate.
To be sure the coil is dry, disconnect the

compressors while running this test.
4. Knowing the pressure drop of a dry coil,
the real air flow going through the unit
can be determined by the curve that
appears in Fig. 4.
Once all readings have been made, remove
the pipes and replace the caps on both
holes.
Warning:
Not being able to adjust the total
amount of air in the system could
cause serious damage to the
fan.
