Operation

4.1

Voltage supply

Voltage is supplied via the power supply cable.

If the BEA 065 is operated outdoors, it is advisable
to use a voltage source protected by a ground fault
interrupter (GFI). The unit is only to be operated in
dry conditions.

To avoid the formation of condensed water, allow
the BEA 065 to adjust to ambient temperature be-
fore switching on the BEA 065!

The details of the power supply for the BEA 065 are
displayed on a sticker on the rear of the unit.
4.2

Switching the unit on/off

4.2.1

Switching on the unit

1. Switch on the BEA 065 at the back of the unit (fig. 2,
item 10).
2. Switch on the BEA 065 via the power key on the
front of the unit (fig. 1, item 9).
 LED (fig. 1, item 6) lit (green).
 The BEA PC software is started.
4.2.2

Switching off the unit

To keep contamination of the BEA 065 to a minimum,
it is advisable to flush residual gas out of the BEA 065
with the pump running prior to switching off. The ex-
haust gas sampling probe must be in the open air for
this purpose.

First, exit from the exhaust gas test step and wait
for completion of pump run-on. Only then, switch off
the BEA 065.

Switch off the BEA 065 via the power key on the
front of the unit (fig. 1, item 9).

The LED on the BEA 065 is not lit up.

Thermal printer

Heat-sensitive paper is subject to ageing and the
print fades after a few months. Always make a copy
if a print-out is to be kept for longer periods.
Procedure for loading the roll of paper:
1. Open the printer cover (fig. 1, item 5) on the front of
the BEA 065.
2. Remove the empty roll of paper.
3. Place the new roll of paper (correctly oriented) in
the paper feeder (fig. 5, item 1).

The paper can be printed on one side only.

4. Guide the paper through the slot in the printer cover
and close the cover to where it snaps in position.

The roll of paper is loaded.

The paper is fed with the paper feed key.

Pull the paper sideways against the sharp edge to
tear off the paper.

Remote control

The symbols/key assignment are described in the oper-

Transport

!
Transport BEA 065 in an upright position only. If the
BEA 065 is tilted during transportation, condensate
may escape and damage the measurement chamber.
