Operation
Motor Rotation Operation
1. Press the Test Button. If the green ON
LED does not illuminate, replace the
battery.
2. Plug the test leads into the corre-
sponding jacks of the test instrument.
Do not connect the motor rotation leads
to a source of voltage or current.
Damage to the test instrument can
result.
3. Connect the three test leads of the test
instrument to the terminals or leads of
the motor.
4. Press the Test Button and twist the
motor shaft in the desired direction of
rotation.
• If the CORRECT LED is lit, the
connections have been correctly
identified. Disconnect the test
instrument from the motor.
• If the INCORRECT LED is lit, switch
any two leads and repeat Step 4.

Phase Sequence Tester Operation
1. Disconnect and lock out power.
Do not connect the phase sequence
leads to more than 700 VAC. Electric
shock can result.
2. Connect the leads to the 3-phase
circuit. Apply power.
3. Press the Test Button. All three Phase
Indicator LED's should illuminate.

4. Disconnect power to the circuit.
Disconnect the test instrument from
the circuit. Apply power to the circuit.

LED's do not illuminate, shut off
and lock out the power. Have the
wiring corrected by a qualified
electrician.
LED's should be lit. If the
CORRECT LED is lit, the phases
have been correctly identified. If
the INCORRECT LED is lit,
disconnect and lock out power.
Switch any two leads, apply
power and retest.
