Check the sidewall of the tire prior to inflation. If there are any cracks, bumps or similar
CAUTION
GB
damage, do not attempt to inflate the tire. Do not stand directly beside the tire while the
US
compressor is pumping. Watch the sidewall of the tire. If any cracks, bumps or similar
damage appear, turn off the compressor and let the air out by means of the pressure
relief valve
D
11 Inflate the tire for no longer than 7 minutes to an inflation pressure of minimum 26 psi
(180 kPa, 1.8 bar) and a maximum of 51 psi (350 kPa, 3.5 bar). Switch off the com-
pressor briefly in order to read the actual tire pressure from the pressure gauge.
F
If the tire inflation pressure does not reach 26 psi (180 kPa, 1.8 bar) within 7 minutes,
CAUTION
the tire may have suffered excessive damage, making a temporary repair impossible.
In this case, do not continue to use the tire!
I
12 Once a tire inflation pressure of at least 26 psi (180 kPa, 1.8 bar) has been reached:
k Switch the compressor to "0".
E
k Pull the power plug
k Quickly unscrew the hose from the tire valve and fasten the valve cap again.
k Swivel the orange sealant bottle back to its original position (Fig. I).
k Close the safety catch
k Make sure the ContiComfortKit is stored safely, but is still easily accessible, in the
vehicle. It will be needed again when you check the tire pressure.
13 Immediately start and drive for about 2 miles (3 km) so that the sealant can seal the
damaged area. Do not drive any faster than 50 mph (80 km/h) (observe the sticker indi-
cating the maximum permissible speed).
If heavy vibrations, unsteady steering behavior or noises should occur while driving,
WARNING
reduce your speed and drive with caution to a place where it is safe for you to stop
the vehicle. Recheck the tire and its pressure. If the tire pressure is less than 19 psi
(130 kPa, 1.3 bar) or if there are any cracks, bumps or similar damage visible, do not
continue to use the tire!
Step 2: Checking the tire pressure
14 Stop the vehicle after driving about 2 miles (3 km). Check and, where necessary, adjust
the pressure of the damaged tire.
Attention!
If your tires are linked to a tire pressure monitoring system the use of a sealant may lead
to error prompts and incorrect readings. Therefore, use the ContiComfortKit's pressure gauge to
check and adjust the damaged tire's inflation pressure.
15 Make sure that the orange sealant bottle is in its original position (see Fig. I).
16 Screw the hose
17 Read the tire pressure from the pressure gauge.
