1. Introduction

Before starting the pump, read the instructions carefully and observe the safety warnings in order
to prevent accidents and ensure the perfect operation of the unit.

Store the instructions in a safe location.
•
For safety reasons, do not permit children or persons under the age of 16, or anyone who has not
read this handbook or understood its contents, to handle or operate the pump.
The following symbols are used in the instructions handbook:

This symbol refers to the working and operating procedures that must be carefully observed in
order to prevent hazards to users and third parties.

WARNING
This symbol refers to the information that must be observed in order to avoid damaging the
unit.
NOTE
This informative symbol refers to the technical requirements that must be observed.
2. Safety Measures
The pump may only be powered by an electrical system that complies with national installation
!
regulations.
For safety reasons, make sure that the pump is powered via a differential switch whose
!
nominal operating differential current does not exceed 30mA.
Make sure that the power outlet used to power the pump is properly connected to an efficient
!
grounding system.
The mains power voltage and type of current required, as specified on the rating plate, must
!
correspond to the characteristics of your electrical system.
!
The pump may be used for its intended purposes only (see 'USAGE' section).
Before starting the pump, make sure that:
!
1. Pump, power cable and plug are not damaged
2. Nobody is in contact with the water in which the pump is submerged.
!
Never operate a damaged pump.
!
Repairs may be performed by an authorized service centre only.
The pump may only be lifted and carried using the supplied rope and the appropriate rope
!
slots.
!
Do not pull the power cable to unplug the pump.
In the event of a malfunction, disconnect the pump by gripping and pulling out the plug from
!
the power outlet before you perform any maintenance or cleaning operations.
!
Protect the plug from humidity. The plug must be accessible when the pump is running
!
Do not make any arbitrary modifications to the pump or tamper with it in any way.
In Austria:
!
According to ÖVE B/EN 60555 specifications, part 1-3, permanently connected pumps used
in swimming pools and ponds must be powered via an approved isolating transformer with
secondary voltage rating not exceeding 230 V.
