Performing a functional test
Conduct the functional test as follows:
➤ Switch on the ignition and shift into reverse gear.
➤ Disengage the the reverse gear.
Be very careful when you first operate the device, and make sure that you
familiarize yourself with the various sequences of beeps.
Zone Description (see fig. 5, page 5)
1
MagicWatch recognises obstacles at a
distance of about 1.2 m (measured from
the sensor) and signals them with a
series of slow beeps from the piezo
speaker and by the illuminating the
green LED.
2
At a distance of around 0.8 m (measured
from the sensor) MagicWatch switches
to the orange LED and to a medium-
length beep sequence.
3
At a distance of around 0.4 m (measured
from the sensor) and less, MagicWatch
switches to the red LED and a continu-
ous tone. When you reach this zone,
stop the vehicle.
Otherwise you might damage the vehicle
or the obstacle.
In Zone 3 some obstacles may not be detected, because they are
no longer within range of the sensors (construction-related charac-
teristic).
MagicWatch is equipped with a diagnostic function. If a sensor fails, the dis-
play indicates the error by quickly flashing the respective red LED (e. g. left
red LED to indicate the left sensor).
