IMPORTANT PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENTS
GB
Before installing the ZIPPER 105 check that there
are no mechanical impediments or obstacles which
may jeopardize the following operations:
- insertion of the device into the tank opening;
- correct blocking onto the opening ring nut;
-
efficacy of the device gasket tightening.
For this purpose, ensure that:
The internal diameter of the tank opening is at
least 77 mm - (fig.1);
The minimum measurements outlined in fig.2 are
observed.
IMPORTANT: ensure that there is a
minimum distance of 250 mm above
the upper rim of the tank opening, as
shown in fig.3. In case this provision
is not observed, it may result impossible to
correctly introduce the nozzle into the opening
for refuelling.
Also check absence of disturbing elements inside
the
tank, such as:
the presence of supports for impurity prevention
filters, filter holding ring nuts, fuel splash-
prevention plate, or other mechanical adaptors
inside the tank opening, which may create
obstacles for the installation of the ZIPPER (see
Section 10 page 36).
If appropriate, the following procedure must be
carried out:
fold the lug (if present) inside the tank, as shown in
fig. 4.
remove the fuel splash-prevention plate, and the
relevant fastening ring nut:
- make use of a screw-driver to release the
splash-prevention plate (fig. 5) and then remove
it;
- by means of pliers, force the welding point,
removing the splash-prevention plate fastening ring
nut completely (also in pieces) (fig. 6).
