1.
Remove the lower bolts from the frame mounting brackets, (2) per side. Bolts will be use for hitch installation. Do not discard.
2.
Attach flat washers with tape to the underside of the bumper (see Figure 2).
3.
Insert bumper bracket mounting structure between flat washers (installed in Step 2) and bumper.
4.
Swivel hitch into position and loosely reinstall fasteners removed in Step 1 with additional flat washers.
5.
Install bumper bracket mounting structure fasteners as shown above.
6.
Tighten all fasteners to the required torque specifications
Tighten all ¾-10 GR5 fasteners with a torque wrench to 260 Lb.-Ft. (353 N*M)
Tighten all M14 CL8.8 fasteners with a torque wrench to 89 Lb.-Ft. (121 N*M)
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent
entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a
vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

SAE J684.
