- Fan blades are rotating freely.

- Superheat and sub cooling.
- Oil level check for multi piston compressors.
The system is checked again for leaks.
For
remote
installation
'recommendations of use handbook'.
Make sure that the installation is running smoothly.
Carry out a general inspection of the installation (e.g. cleanliness,
vibration and/or unusual noises). Ensure the settings and the
functions of the electrical circuits arecorrect.
The lack of refrigerant may be characterized by:
- High and low pressure values that are too low,
- An evaporator that is partially frozen,
- The presence of bubbles on the sight glass.
The excess of refrigerant may be characterized by:
- A high pressure value that is too high,
- Over consuming compressor,
- Important sub cooling,
- A liquid return.
5.4. Control
The rotational speed of the fan(s) is controlled by a pressure
actuated fan speed control. Its function is to:
- Prevent an excessive drop in condensing pressure in winter
which would adversely affect the correct operation of the
expansion valve,
- Further reduce noise levels when the ambient temperature
allows.
See Appendix 5, on fan speed control
The compressor contactor, is controlled by a thermostat or by a
pressostat ( pump down control)
6. SERVICING AND MAINTENANCE
Maintenance and commissioning of the unit must be carried out
by people qualified and trained
Unauthorized modifications to Silensys®Advanced condensing
units are prohibited. Authorization from TECUMSEH must be
obtained prior to any modification whatsoever.
Any faulty part must be replaced with a genuine spare part. In
order to maintain the low noise levels of the condensing unit
over time, we recommend replacing the anti-vibration mounts
and/or isolating pads as soon as any change in the noise or
vibration level of the unit is noticed.
Connections, fan and compressor compartments can be
accessed from either the side door panel or the front of the
unit, without removing the lid.
6.1. Condenser
The condenser and the condensing unit should be cleaned at
least once a year. Access from the inside of the unit can be
gained by removing the fan cover.
6.2. Replacing the fan
- Switch off and isolate the condensing unit.
- Disconnect the fan motor cable from the junctionbox.
- Undo the 4 mounting bolts.
- Take off the fan motor assembly.
- Replace the motor-driven fan and its capacitor (size S model).
6.3. Replacing the compressor
In the case of a replacement of a compressor AJ², refer to
Appendix 6.
A damaged compressor can potentially pollute the oil of the
refrigerating circuit. Then Tecumseh advises to clean this
refrigerating circuit.
Leak checking and periodical inspections
6.4.
Use the appropriate equipment to empty or refill the
system (recovery machine, goggles, gloves etc.).
A leak detection check must be carried out according to the
local regulations or at least once a year.

6.5. Electrical connections, running pressures and
temperatures checking
Systematically check the tightening of all screwed electrical components.
Check regularly:
- Safety and control devices,
- The condition of electrical and refrigeration connections (e.g. for any
loosening or oxidation),
- Operating conditions,
- The mounting of the condensing unit on its base,
- The housing fixings (no vibration),
- Crankcase heater operation.
- While maintenance, pay attention to the electrical box sealing. No
ingress of refrigerant or liqud should be possible.
6.6. Filter drier
Silensys® Advanced condensing units are all fitted with a brazed filter
drier.
Replacement filter drier selection:
When changing the filter drier, ensure that it is replaced with an
equivalent in capacity and pressure drop and with the correct direction
of flow.
6.7. Safety devices
Pressostat
The pressostat fitted in the unit is specific to run with the authorised
A2L refrigerants. In case of replacement, consider the current, the
technology of cut out, of the model installed by Tecumseh in the
SILENSYS ADVANCED unit.
The pressure setting made by the manufacturer must be controlled and
adjusted to be in accordance with the local regulation in force.
Compressor compartment Panel fan
Air flow goal is to evacuate the refrigerant out of the compressor
compartment in case of leakage, to shorten the time of flammable
refrigerant presence around electrical components.
A permanent control is necessary. In case of fan failure, the unit
automatically stop.
While maintenance and commissioning check that the compressor
compartment panel fan is working, otherwise flammable refrigerant
presence is possible in the unit.
This fan has been sized to ensure an efficient air renewal in the
compressor compartment. It is essential to replace it by the original
model.
Connections are available to provide an alarm.
