Assure that the maintenance and repair of your power tool by a qualified repair person
using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
Special Safety Warnings for bench grinders
Warning!: read and understand all the safety and operation instructions to avoid hazardous
situations.
a. Sparking occurs when grinding metal and it can cause injuries in your face or body.
Always wear safety glasses and clothes. Do not use unit or product around any flammable
material or fuel. Check that all the safety tool protectors and wheel guards are properly
mounted.
b. Before mounting a new wheel, be sure that it is marked with an RPM that is the same as,
or higher than, the no load speed of the grinder as marked on the nameplate.
c. Cool pieces into water to avoid overheating. Do not water the bench grinder.
d. Use the tool rest to hold the pieces (4). If it is not used the torsion of the wheel could
remove pieces from your hand and cause hazardous situations.
e. Do not use aluminum oxide wheels when grinding non-ferrous steel as aluminum and
brass. Use silicon carbide wheels.
f. When you grinding steel, always hold the steel by the lowest side of the polisher wheel.
Always keep your fingers away from the grinder wheel and the work piece tool rest
Note: tool performance varies depending on voltage variations of the local line. The
use of extensions could affect the tool performance.

WARNING: The warnings, precautions and instructions declared in this manual

understood by the operator that common sense and self-precaution are factors
that cannot be incorporated in this product, but it must be provided by the
operator.
g. This tool was not designed for a continuous use. To avoid overheating, do not exceed
over 15 minutes of continuous use. Cold the tool for 10 minutes before using the tool again.
h. Do not use damaged or cracked wheels
i. The wheel diameter is 5.3". If the wheel is reduced under 1.0", it must be replaced.
j. The adjustment of the wheel guard is intended to reduce the damage in the grinding
wheel. It must be gradually adjusted to keep the distance between the wheel and the wheel
cover as short as possible but it must not be over 2 mm.
k. Switch the tool on and wait until it get its highest speed before grinding with the wheel.
l. Do not stop the grinding wheel with hands or any other tool. Wait until it stops and keep
your hands away.
Bauker Bench Grinders are ideal for sharpening tools such as chisels, planer blades,
scissors, etc., and for removing rust or corrosion. All the others tools are excluded for
grinding purposes.
Caution! : Use wheels including information provided by the manufacturer such
as sizes and revolutions per minutes described in the technical information of the
tool.
