Cooling System Test and Filling Set 25pcs.
ENG
Dear Customer!
Thank you for purchasing this high-quality radiator pressure tester. It allows you to locate
leaks in the expansion tank as well as leaks in valves and accessories, pipes etc..
The adapter is equipped with quick couplings and the pump is provided with a large, clearly
legible scale.
Safety Measures
When working with hot, pressurized radiators you have to be very careful. There is a high
risk of scalding. Always wear hand and eye protection.
Make sure that the radiator / cooling system has cooled down before removing the lid.
In order to avoid burns, do not start the engine before and during the pressure test.
1.1 Checking the cooling system by hand pump
Remove the original radiator cap, the cap of the expansion tank or cooler and clean the
area around the lid.
Choose an adequate, supplied adapter cap and install it on the cooling water tank or the
cooler.
Connect the hand pump with the quick couplings to the adapter cap and press it until
you have reached a pressure of 0.7 – 1.0 bar (see photos 1 & 2)
Caution: Avoid a pressure higher than 2.4 bar
Check the displayed value on the manometer. If the displayed pressure value goes
down, you have a leakage in the cooling system.
If the test results in having found a leak, check the system for where the leak is located
and repair the damage.
In case the displayed pressure value drops without fi nding a leak, please check
the head gasket.
After having fi nished the repair, check the system again. (photo 2).
1.2 Checking the original radiator caps for leakage
Choose the radiator cap tester Blue or Black with the corresponding steel radiator cap
no 3, 4 or 5 and assemble it.
Actuate the hand pump several times, then check the displayed value on the manometer.
Note: Do not create higher pressure than 1.3 bar for leak detection, when a value of max.
1.3 bar is indicated on the cap as maximum pressure.
Check the displayed value. In case the value drops automatically, you have a leak in the
cap.
