OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Before using the tool, read the
instruction book carefully.
INTENDED uSE
The machine is intended for cutting, roughing
and brushing metal and stone materials without
using water. For cutting stone, a cutting guide is
required.
1. SAFETy ON / OFF SWITCh (See Fig. A)
Your switch is
locked off to
prevent accidental
starting. With
your hand on the
on/off switch (4)
use your finger
to push lever (5) forward and then depress on/
off switch (4). Then release lever (5). Your tool is
now on. To switch off just release on/off switch.
2. hAND GRIP AREAS
Always hold your angle grinder firmly with both
hands when operating.
3. ADjuSTAbLE AuXILIARy hANDLE (See b)
An auxiliary
handle is supplied
and can be fixed
into any of the
three positions
on the gearcase.
If you are right
handed fit the handle as shown in fig B. If you
are left handed fit the handle the other way
round. When using a cutting disc, you can
screw the handle into the position on top of the
gearcase.
NOTE: This handle should be used at all times to
maintain complete control of the tool.
4. SPINDLE LOCk buTTON
Must only be used when changing a disc. Never
press when the disc is rotating!
5. FITTING ThE DISCS (See C1 ,C2 ,C3)
Put the inner flange (12) onto the tool spindle.
Ensure it is located on the two flats of spindle
(see C1).
Place the disc on the tool spindle and inner
flange (12). Ensure it is correctly located. Fit

the threaded
outer flange (11)
making sure it
is facing in the
correct direction
for the type of
disc fitted. For
cutting discs, the
flange is fitted with
the inner portion
facing towards
the disc (see C2).
For grinding discs
(not supplied), the
flange is fitted with
the raised portion
facing towards the
disc.
Press in the
spindle lock button
and rotate the
spindle by hand
until it is locked.
Keeping the lock
button pressed
in, tighten the
outer flange (11)
with the spanner
provided. (See C3)
6. GuARD ADjuSTMENT (See D, E)
before any work
on the machine
itself, pull the
mains plug.
For work with
grinding or
cutting discs,
the wheel
guard must be
mounted.
Wheel Guard for
Cutting
WARNING!
For cutting
metal, always work with the wheel guard for
cutting(9).
The coded projection on the wheel guard(9)
ensures that only a guard that fits the machine
type can be mounted.
Open the clamping lever. Place the wheel
guard(9) with coded projection into the coded
groove on the spindle of the machine head and
rotate to the required position (working position).
