Troubleshooting
If your appliance should unexpectedly fail to
function correctly, it may not be necessary to
contact the customer service immediately. Please
check first whether the cause of the fault is trivial:
12
When dust is expelled during vacuuming:
•
Is the paper filter bag or the long-life wet and
dry filter correctly fitted, sealed and in order?
•
Is an original THOMAS filter fitted?
When the suction power gradually
declines:
•
Is the container full?
•
Are the filter pores blocked by fine dust or
soot? (remove the long-life wet and dry filter
for cleaning.)
•
Is the paper filter bag full?
•
Is the nozzle, extension pipe or suction pipe
blocked with dirt? (Extend the suction hose
when the appliance is running – extension
frees blockages.)
When the suction power declines
suddenly:
•
Has the float valve switched the suction air
flow off? This can happen when the appliance
is placed on a steep gradient or has fallen
over. Switch off the appliance – the float valve
falls open - the appliance is ready for use.
When the motor does not run:
•
Are the cable, plug and socket in order?
•
Disconnect the plug before checking.
•
Never open the motor yourself.
