the double drive (#2 & #3)
20 Use this with the wire beaters or dough hooks.
21 The wire beaters can be inserted in either position. Use them for liquid or soft
ingredients. Don't use them for more than three minutes at a time.
22 The dough hooks will fit one way only (#3). One of the dough hooks has a flange, so
it'll fit only in the wide hole. When fitted correctly, they drive the dough downwards,
to prevent it climbing up the hooks.
23 Use the hooks only for mixing dough, not for kneading.
24 Use both wire beaters, or both hooks. Don't mix them.
the single drive (#4 & #5)
25 Use this with the whisk, or with the jug and chopper.
26 Use the whisk with liquid or liquid/fluid mixes, and only for three minutes at a time.
the jug and chopper
27 Fit the single drive to the handle.
28 Sit the spindle in the hexagonal hole in the bottom of the jug.
29 Hold the plastic part of the chopper – keep your fingers well clear of the blade.
30 Push the chopper down over the spindle, and give it a couple of turns to check it
rotates freely.
31 Add the ingredients – don't fill past the max mark.
32 Fit the operating lid (it's transparent, with a short spindle in the centre) to the jug. It
has a bayonet fitting, but it turns the "wrong" way – it turns anti-clockwise to lock
and clockwise to unlock. This is necessary to prevent it unlocking with the motion
of the blade.
33 Put the lid on the jug with the spout cover clockwise of the spout, then turn anti-
clockwise to bring the spout cover over the spout. This will engage the bayonet
fitting and lock the lid in place.
34 Lower the handle over the spindle in the centre of the operating lid, and turn the
handle slightly anti-clockwise till it fits snugly.
35 Plug in, support the jug, and switch on.
36 Use the chopper in bursts of a few seconds, otherwise you risk overdoing it. Chop,
stop, then look – repeat till you achieve the required consistency.
37 Unplug the handle, remove the operating lid, and lift out the chopper by the plastic
part – don't handle the blades.
the dispensing lid
38 Replace the operating lid with the dispensing lid. Like the drive lid, it has a bayonet
fitting, but this one turns the "right" way – clockwise to lock and anti-clockwise to
unlock.
39 You can rotate the cap on the dispensing lid to expose large or small holes. This can
be used to separate different sized solids, or solids and liquids.
40 To separate and pour, fit the dispensing lid backwards, with the spout cover over
the jug handle.
