The described device conducts hazardous voltages and controls rotating mechanical parts, which are
also dangerous. Disregard of the warnings and/or non-observance of the instructions included in this

These devices may only be worked on by suitable, qualified personnel, and only after they have
familiarised themselves with all safety, installation, operating and maintenance instructions included in
this manual. Successful and hazard-free operation of the device depends on its proper handling,
installation, use and maintenance.

The intermediate circuits of all Micromaster devices retain dangerous voltage for a period of 5 minutes
after disconnection from all sources of electrical power. Therefore, wait for 5 minutes after
disconnecting the converter from the power supply before working on any of the Micromaster's
modules.

8 Preparing for commissioning


The device must be either securely installed in an A4 frame or operated in a horizontal position.

The motor must be connected with the shielded cable provided for this purpose. Make sure that the
shield terminal on the motor is correctly connected.

The safety plugs are connected to the motor's terminal box according to whether the motor will be wired
for star or delta operation.

The motor must be placed on a stable, horizontal surface for operation. Due to generation of heat
during operation, the motor must not be covered. The motor shaft must be protected against
inadvertent contact.

All pertinent technical data can be found in the manufacturer's documentation.

1. Loosen the knurled nut on
the bottom of the terminal
box which is attached to the
motor. Insert the shield lug
between the terminal box
and the knurled nut.
2. Tighten the knurled nut.
Phases U, V and W are
plugged in according to the
desired operating mode.
