This digital multimeter is compliant with the safety rules applicable to electronic mea-
surement instruments and pocket digital multimeters as per the international EN 61010-1
standard (CAT III 600 V, pollution level 2).
Read the following instructions carefully before using the device and comply with applicable
safety standards.
1.1 Device description
1 Rotating selector: This digital multimeter has a rotary selector located in the centre
of the front face. It is used to select the operating mode, the range and to power on the
device (on/off). In order to save energy, turn the selector to the "off" position when not
using the device.
2 LCD screen: 3 ½, 12 mm high LCD screen.
3 "COM" terminal: Common terminal
4 "VΩmA" terminal: Input terminal for voltage, resistance, current (200 mA
maximum) and battery test, and 50 Hz sinusoid wave output.
1.2 Safety instructions
To use this device safely, read these instructions carefully.
1.3 Precautions
• Allow the device to warm for 30 seconds before taking the first measurement.
• Check the casing condition before each use. Check that neither the casing nor the
insulation around the input terminals is cracked.
• Only use the measuring cords supplied with the device.
• Check that the device is in working order by carrying out a test on a known voltage
source. The existence of anomalies is usually due to damage to the device protection; in
this case, have it repaired before reusing it.
• Do not place the device inside a powerful magnetic field as this could result in incorrect
measurements.
• Do not place the device in an environment with high pressures or temperatures or that is
characterised by the presence of dust, explosive gases or vapours.
• If the order of magnitude of the value to be measured is unknown, select the highest
measurement range.
• Never exceed the protection limits indicated in the specifications for each measuring
range.
• Always be careful when measuring voltages above 60 V or 30 V~ rms. Keep your fingers
behind the hand guard when measuring voltage.
• To connect the cords to the measurement circuit, first connect the common cord and
then the live cord. Disconnect them in reverse order.
• Disconnect the cords from the circuit before changing function and/or range.
• Before measuring resistance or carrying out a continuity or diode test, power off the
circuit and discharge all the capacitors.
• Before measuring current, power off the circuit, cut the circuit, connect the cords serially
to the line to be measured, then power back on.
• When the "
" symbol is displayed, replace the battery to avoid getting incorrect results.
+
• Only use in dry premises in which there is a low risk of mechanical shocks.
