wearer. The belt has webbing loops for hanging tools and metal rings for hanging a
tool bag.
Harnesses equipped with a positioning belt can be used to keep the user in position
at his work point (positioning) or to prevent him from reaching a point from which a
fall can occur (restraint). The lateral positioning D-rings must not be used as fall
arresters. The anchorage point must be located at or above the user's waist. The
lanyard component must be kept taut and free movement must be restricted to a
maximum of 0.60 m.
Seat harness ( EN 813: 2008 )
Step 8: Position the belt around the lap, with the padded support on the dorsal side
and the D-rings on the ventral side. Pull one end of the belt until it fits snugly against
the body without impeding free movement and close the buckles.
The seat harness is intended for use in restraint, securing or rope access systems
where a low anchorage point is required.
Before first use, the user should perform a suspension test in a safe place to ensure
that the harness is the correct size, that the fit is sufficient and that it provides an
acceptable level of comfort for the intended conditions of use.
Rescue harness ( EN 1497: 2007 )
Step 9: The "D" ring on the evacuation strap or the textile shoulder evacuation rings
are only for connection to rescue equipment during a rescue operation. It must not
be used as a fall arrester. In the case of textile rings, an evacuation lanyard (Boomer)
must be attached.
The rescue harness is intended to be worn during normal work activities and the
user should carry out a suspension test in a safe place before using the rescue
harness for the first time, to ensure that it is the correct size, has sufficient
adjustment and its comfort level is acceptable for the intended use.
MATERIAL
The harness is manufactured from 44 mm polyester webbing.
