Cleaning and Alignment - Tracks

Frequent sliding of the track pieces may cause wear and binding and may require cleaning and lubrication. Follow
the track alignment instructions when track pieces are assembled, altered, or appear to be binding.
Cleaning and lubricating tracks:
Note: The following may be completed with the hardware
mounting bracket installed on the wheelchair.
1 Open the release levers (A) and slide the back support
(B) apart from the mounting bracket (C), as shown
below.
2 Use a clean, dry, cloth to wipe away debris along the
outside of the male tracks (D) and the inside female
tracks (E).
3 Using a cloth or cotton swab, apply a light lubricant to
the inside edges of the female tracks (E).
4 Slide the mounting bracket (C) and the back support
assembly (B) together, and run both tracks together the
full length, allowing the lubricant to spread.
5 Reset the back support height and close the release
levers (A).

Track alignment:
1 Start with the back support and hardware assembly
removed from the wheelchair.
2 From the rear face of the hardware, gently loosen the
eight screws in the track assembly.
3 For the best results, tighten the screws 1 through 8 in
the order shown below.
4 To check for track alignment: With the release levers in
the open position, slide the tracks up and down.
5 Repeat steps 2-4 if needed until the assembly slides
easily.
6 Install the hardware on the wheelchair. See "Installation -
Pre-assembled" in this manual.
