General information

Safety

All work should be undertaken in compliance with the relevant accident prevention regulations according
to BGV C22.
The installation of this system or individual system component must be carried out by qualified specialists.
The entire system must always be switched off and secured against unauthorised resetting during any
work on the system or system components.
Certain system parts are electrically live and must not be opened. Work on electrical equipment must only
be carried out by a qualified electrician.
All electric cables and connections must be in sound condition. If damage has occurred, the system must
not be operated under any circumstances.
In the event of damage, water may leak out of the system. The water can be diverted by installing a floor
drain, for example.
If the system is not adequately mounted or secured it may fall down; make sure the wall or holder has
sufficient load-bearing capacity.
1.2

Labelling requirement

Harvested rainwater is not suitable for consumption or personal hygiene use.
All harvested rainwater pipes and extraction points must be labelled with "Not drinking water" in the form
of text or an image (DIN 1988 part 2, section 3.3.2.), in order to avoid mistakenly connecting them to the
drinking water network, even years later.
Even if the correct labelling is used, confusion may still arise, e.g. on the part of children. All service water
extraction points must therefore be fitted with child-proof valves.
The system has no effect on the quality of the process water.
1.3

Applications

The GRAF Mains-on-Tap mains water top-up unit automatically ensures that mains water is supplied to
cover the demand for process water when the rainwater tank is empty.
Plastic, concrete or metal tanks may be used. Because mains water is supplied automatically when
needed, there is always a supply of process water even when the rainwater tank is empty.
Process water can be used for watering the garden, flushing the toilet, washing laundry and for general
household cleaning.
The Mains-on-Tap unit is designed to be installed in a frost-proof, flood-protected and dry location.
