7. Electric connection
WARNING! Danger to life from electric voltage. The device may only be installed
by an electrician in accordance with the corresponding circuit diagram on the
housing or in the operating instructions. The applicable safety regulations should
be observed.
Attention! All poles of the mains voltage must be switched off prior to installation!
Attention! The sensor carries mains voltage.
Only the sensor type HF-8/x-K2 provided should be installed. Connecting another
sensor may produce a life-threatening electric shock.
Troubleshooting and fault rectification should only be carried out by an electrician.
The sensor provided has a H03VV cable. The double insulation stipulated by EN
60730-1 must also be complied with at the connection points when extending the
sensor using H03VV or H05VV cables.

8. Mounting
The device with the 50 x 50 mm housing cover can be integrated into virtually all switch
ranges using intermediate frames from switch manufacturers in accordance with DIN 49075.
The device with the 55 x 55 mm housing cover is also suitable for various switch ranges.
With multiple frames, the controller should always be fitted in the bottom position. Depending
on the screw used, a PZ 1 or T7 screwdriver should be used for the mounting screw. After
electrical connection (see Section 7.) and installation in the flush-mounted socket, the
controller must be closed as follows:
Install the controller cap including the frame and, where applicable, the intermediate frame,
and fix it using the screw provided. Next, install the adjustment knob.

In order to reduce the setting range, the pin under the adjustment knob is pulled out and
the setting pins adjusted (red for maximum and blue for minimum setting available). The pin
is then re-inserted, thereby locking the limits.

For safety reasons and to ensure that defective sensors can be replaced, sensor
cables must be installed in the protective tube. The THF protective sleeve is used
to seal the protective tube in the screed (see Section 3. Accessories).
The sensor should be installed in the floor.
Ensure that the sensor cable is not laid parallel to cables carrying mains voltage.
In order to achieve optimal heat distribution in the floor, the sensor must be placed
centrally between two heating conductors.
With surfaces heated with hot water, de-energised closed valves must be used.
)
Where necessary, thermal cut-outs may also need to be installed.
The controller must be installed on the wall covering / lining.
9. Displays
The red lamp indicates the active heating. In the event of sensor failure, sensor short-circuit
or if the sensor temperature falls below -20 °C (equivalent to sensor failure), the lamp will
): 0.75 - 4.0 mm²
flash red (see Section 11.).
10. Temperature reduction
If
potential L1 is activated at the terminal, the controller lowers the setpoint by approx. 5
K. This makes it possible to lower the temperature in a time-controlled manner e.g. using a
clock controller with ECO output.
11. Sensor failure / sensor short-circuit
In the event of sensor failure, sensor short-circuit or if the sensor temperature falls below -20
°C (equivalent to sensor failure), the lamp will flash red and the heating is switched off.
WARNING! Danger to life from electric voltage. Troubleshooting and
fault rectification should only be carried out by an electrician. Only replace
defective sensors with original types HF-8/x-K2 see Section 3.

12. Cleaning
The opened device must not be cleaned. Carefully remove dust and dirt from the
housing surface using a dry, solvent-free and soft cloth.
13. Disassembly
WARNING! Danger to life from electric voltage. The device may only be
opened and removed by an electrician.
Attention! All poles of the mains voltage must be switched off prior to
disassembly!
Before opening, de-energise the underfloor temperature controller and all connected
devices and lock so they cannot be switched on again (opening described below).
Disconnect the cabling for the switch output, supply voltage, sensor and, where
applicable, ECO contact.
Remove the underfloor temperature controller and sensor and dispose of them correctly.
