4.3
Replacing a filter cartridge
Once 90 % of the filter capacity has been used up, at the latest after 360 days, you are prompted to re-
place the filter cartridge:
⇒ Run the flushing hose into a suitable container (e.g., a bucket) or into a drain.
⇒ Slowly unscrew the used filter cartridge anti-clockwise. This releases it from the filter head and it can be
removed.
♦ During this procedure, the consumer unit and the water supply line are hydraulically disconnected
from the filter head and the system is decompressed. In this case, it can happen that a minimal quan-
tity of decompression water can escape from the flushing hose due to pressure peaks. Take this into
consideration and place a suitable container underneath.
⇒ Open the purge valve (5) (OPEN, Fig. 3).
Water escapes from the flushing hose as soon as the filter cartridge has been inserted!
⇒ Remove the new filter cartridge from the packaging and check for damage.
⇒ Insert the filter cartridge into the filter head.
Insert the filter cartridge with its marking at insertion mark A and screw it in as far as it will go,
operating mark B.
⇒ Vent and rinse the filter cartridge.
- Filter cartridge M: Flush with min. 5 liters of water
- Filter cartridge L:
⇒ Close the purge valve (5) (CLOSE, Fig. 4).
⇒ Enter the date of installation and the time of replacement in the corresponding fields on the sticker on
the filter cartridge (a ballpoint pen can be used).
NOTICE: The rinsing water is initially milky and cloudy. This is due to the dispersed air and clears
after a short time.
Check the correct position of the filter cartridge in the filter head using the markings on the filter
head (B, Fig. 5) and filter cartridge. When inserting the filter cartridge, pay attention to the position
of the sticker. This should face forward so that all the necessary information is visible.
If the filter cartridge is removed from the filter head without being replaced by a new one, the wa-
ter supply to the filter head must be shut off.
4.3.1
Resetting the counter / checking the filter capacity
If a filter cartridge of the same size was used when replacing the filter cartridge, only the counter needs to
be reset.
If a larger filter cartridge is used, its capacity must be entered first.
