Definite Focus.2 consists of the following main assemblies:
Definite Focus.2 sensor module

Focus Controller.2

Attenuation filter BG 39, tilted, for mounting in LD condenser 0.55

Beam combiner module (must be ordered separately)

Retrofits of Definite Focus.2 to existing Axio Observer.Z1 stands (available from 431007-9901-000) or
Axio Observer 7 stands (from 431007-9904-000 / 431014-9902-000) should be performed by ZEISS
customer service.
Consult the table in section 2.4 of the complete Definite Focus.2 operating manual for recommended
objective lens types for Definite Focus.2 applications. These include both dry and immersion objective
lenses.
Before use of Definite Focus.2 the objectives must be made known to the microscope system. The
simplest way to do this is by using objectives with an ACR ring, which are automatically detected by the
microscope system when it is switched on.
Make sure you are using the right beam combiner module for the experiment. Check the specifications of
the available beam combiner modules. NLO applications require, e.g. a special beam combiner module.
Definite Focus.2 can be operated via the touchscreen of the Axio Observer or the imaging software
ZEN 2.3 (blue edition) or ZEN 2.1 SP1 (black edition), version 12.0.0.362.
