Starting/stopping the mower

Cleaning and maintenance
a)
Before any cleaning, adjustment, or attachment replacement, and when the
machine is not in use, turn the machine off and let it cool down, and remove
the spark plug pipe
Wait until the rotating parts stop.

Clean the machine after each use.

Use only non-corrosive cleaning agents for cleaning the surfaces. It is advisable
to use a fine brush or brush and a plastic spatula (for grass build-up
underneath) etc. and compressed air.

If the motor is cold or will not start press the suction button (11)

Press and hold the motor brake lever (1) against the handle.
Grasp firmly in hand and gently pull starter tug handle until
resistance is felt, then pull vigorously until motor starts. Once the
motor has started, do not let go of the starter handle, but while
holding it, allow it to gently return to its original position.
NOTE: sometimes, under given conditions, it may be necessary to
jerk the starter motor several times before the motor starts.
Once the motor has started, you can begin mowing.
Applicable to HT-LM-53A and HT-LM-56A models only: grasp the
forward assist lever (2) to make the mower move forward under
its own power.
CAUTION: Do not change the factory set drive speed of the
mower (at approximately 1 m/s)! Releasing the drive assist lever
will cause the mower to stop.
To shut off the motor, stop the mower and release the motor
brake lever, which will shut off the motor.
CAUTION: The blade may still be in motion when the motor is
stopped - use caution!
