3.4.3 Replacing the spark plug

The spark plug (8) is located on the front of the unit between the air filter housing
and the muffler. With the motor cold, remove the ignition cable pipe from the
spark plug in order to access the spark plug itself, which must be unscrewed. Check
the condition of the electrodes and, if necessary, clean the carbon deposits on the
spark plug tip (e.g. by rinsing the tip in petrol and, if necessary, gently grinding the
side-mass electrode with fine sandpaper or a wire brush). Be sure to check the
electrode gap before installation. Reverse the installation to disassembly, but
tighten the plugs gently to the torque recommended by the plug manufacturer
(usually indicated on the original plug package).

3.4.4 Air filter

The sponge air filter is reusable. To access it, open its housing by pressing lightly
on the lock located on the side of the housing (see above left picture), then open
the cover to access the filter itself from its inner side. Remove the filter and check
its condition - if it is not damaged (e.g. chipped or torn) rinse it in warm water with
detergent and dry thoroughly. Soak the dry filter in fresh motor oil (the same that
you pour into the motor of the mower). Squeeze out the excess oil from the filter
